Egen Atkinson, MD, MBA
Egen Atkinson is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Commodore Capital. Prior to founding Commodore, Egen was a biotechnology investor on the public and crossover team at Venrock. Prior to Venrock, Egen worked at ForSight Vision4 (acquired by Roche), where he helped to launch and manage a Phase I clinical trial for Age-Related Macular Degeneration. He also consulted on gene therapy pipeline development for Spark Therapeutics (acquired by Roche) prior to IPO.
Egen earned his MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Spencer Morris Prize, awarded to the top graduating student in the class. He earned his MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School and his AB in Economics from Harvard University. While at Harvard, Egen played 4 years of NCAA Division I water polo and served as co-captain.
Egen grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, and enjoys surfing, golf, and skiing.
