Michael Kramarz, MD, MBA
Michael Kramarz is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Commodore Capital. Prior to founding Commodore, Michael was a medical products investor at Samlyn Capital, where he focused on small and mid-cap biopharma companies. While in graduate school, Michael worked for Celgene’s (acquired by Bristol Myers) Cellular Therapeutics subsidiary and consulted for Audentes Therapeutics (acquired by Astellas), helping to prioritize gene therapy indication candidates prior to the company’s IPO.
Michael earned his MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and in the top 5% of his class. He received the James B. Couch Prize, presented to the graduating student with the highest achievement in medicine and business. He earned his MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School, where he received a Kaiser Fellowship and graduated with Honors. Michael graduated summa cum laude with a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and received the Leonardo da Vinci award, presented to the top graduating student in his major.
Michael grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and used to have hobbies but now spends most of his free time chasing his three kids and two dogs.
